I was annoyed at the so-vague-it-is-wrong descriptions of the science behind Crake's vision; I felt like Atwood wasn't doing her homework. Some of it felt like she'd taken a bunch of words she'd read in a genetic engineering textbook and thrown them in a bag and then drew them out at random. Thematically, I felt that it borrowed too much from
A Canticle for Leibowitz, However, I found the characters intriguing and the relationships that Snowman had with Crake, Oryx and the 'Crakers' very moving. Recommended for entertainment.
